Proud Out Loud

Today on the Changed by a Book page of my website, I reviewed Julie Anne Peters new novel, It’s Our Prom (So Deal With It). Peters novels showcase today’s teens’ determination to create a world where tolerance and fair treatment are required rather than requested. Many young adult authors are stepping up to this high road in their stories, but they aren’t leading the way. They are following the young people who, in living their daily lives, are the trailblazers.

I hope that the young adults I write for will help elect Barack Obama, because he stands up for the diversity and fairness that I find to be the hallmarks of contemporary teen ideals, the diversity and fairness that will bring our country back to its own youthful ideals.

  • Don’t you love how she did the Buddhist bow at the end? Today I put my Obama sticker on the back of my car.
