Unstoppable

Unstoppable,
that edge where dark meets light.
In the dusk of my life,
cresting curves engulf.
Can incantations
face such fear?
Unstoppable, that edge—
and its precise piercing of my soul.
In humble procession
I walk my life, the link I am,
an edge between
ancestor and descendent.

I will not tip, nor fall.

I breathe the half-moon balance,
the delicate dark, the mild light,
the gentle disappearing
line between.
I will not drop away from waxing.
I stand as member
of evolving Earth.
Breathing steady
breathing quiet,
rising up as earthling
on behalf of all the beings—
I keep my dancing balance.
